Cyrus Horton is a 57-year-old male who presents today for an acute visit related to left knee pain. Patient states that he is experiencing 6-8/10, throbbing pain in his left knee that began 2 days ago, is constant in nature, and gradual in onset.

Patient says the entire knee hurts. No known trauma. He noticed swelling, redness, and warmth to his left knee. Patient states he has difficulty bending his knee and walking without increased pain. He has tried taking ibuprofen but with no relief, says it does feel better with rest. He says he experienced a similar episode a year ago. Patient says he has a swollen are on his great toe. Patient has PMHx of osteoarthritis, is retired construction worker.
