Assessment Description

Imagine you work for a local organization that provides families with support services. The focus of this week´s seminar is “Supporting the Young Adult.” Your audience will include typical and atypical emerging adults as well as their parents and/or support systems.

Using three to five scholarly sources, create a 10-12-slide digital presentation that addresses the following prompts:

• Explain the socioemotional development of an emerging adult.
• Compare and contrast Erickson´s Intimacy verses Isolation stage. Provide a minimum of one example of each for this developmental stage.
• Evaluate how the physical and cognitive changes (typical and atypical) in emerging adulthood affect identity development.
• Provide an example with atypical development such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or a learning disability.
• Describe the different types of communication styles among neurotypical and neurodiverse populations.
• Provide two resources to support young adults that are displaying typical physical or cognitive changes (even if they have an atypical development).

Title slide and reference slide are not included in the slide count. Include speaker notes below each content- related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 50-75 words per slide. While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
