Write a 500-700-word essay about your personal experiences with young adult literature in particular and reading in general. Consider some of the following questions:

• What value did your family place on reading and/or writing? Did you enjoy reading as a child?   What types of books do you most remember reading as a child? As an adolescent?
• Why did you read? When? Where?
• What kinds of reading activities do you recall from junior high school?
• What specific books, lessons did you connect with in your junior and senior high reading experiences?  Did any particular teacher influence your reading?
• What aspects of your past reading experiences that you detailed do you most anticipate impacting your classroom and role as an English teacher?

Ensure that your response is in essay format and that it includes an introduction, thesis, conclusion and that your paragraphs are well-organized.
