Description
JJ, 23yr old female, presents to clinic with sore throat x2 days. She reports sore throat that feels like “ice pick,” is constant, 10/10 pain, accompanied by headache and fever. She also reports infectious contact. Denies sinus tenderness, ear/eye/nasal drainage, cough, or body aches. Physical examination revealed temperature 101.5F, tonsil enlargement and exudates, erythematous posterior pharynx without ulcers or vesicles, halitosis, bilateral tender cervical lymphadenopathy, approximately 1.5cm in size, rubbery, and mobile. Negative for conjunctivitis or viral rash.
