$20.00

Description

Through the process of the scientific method, we provide evidence to support claims, find the answers to complex questions, or further our understanding of topics/issues/phenomenon.

Complete the attached chart, “Media Claims,” by identifying five media claims. Then write a scientific fact that support the claims and a scientific fact that refutes the media claim statements.

Here are some examples of media claims you can incorporate, but you may also come up with your own: Eating breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Intermittent fasting is the best way to lose weight. Drinking a glass of wine a day is good for your heart.

A cup of coffee a day is ok for pregnant women to have. Standing too close to the TV can hurt your eyes.

Children shouldn’t have any screentime.

Children should exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Taking an aspirin every day improves heart health.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Listerine prevents gingivitis.

Video games cause aggression.

Cite the scholarly, peer reviewed sources from which the scientific facts were obtained using in-text citations and references formatted according to APA Style Guide. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CITE THE MEDIA CLAIM.
